○To try/use DJ-X100 Edit tool 1.00
Prepare in advance the following.
- DJ-X100T/E
- Appropreate version of software T or E
- Included USB cable
- Windows OS PC: Windows 10 or higher will work. PC specs are not required since this is a simple, single-function software.
If the DJ-X100 is set to “not powered by PC,” a battery pack is also required.

==============
[Important]
The firmware of your DJ-X100 should be updated to:
T：Ver. 1.04 MCU 4.00-03 DSP 1.07
E：Ver. 1.04 MCU 4.00-04 DSP 1.07

3.90 and lower firmware won't work with this software.

Previous "EZ-Writer" appears to work, but the contents such as NXDN and DCR modes are changed, the lines of data written may be misaligned and become inaccurate. Please correct them manually with using csv file available through Export/Import function of this software. Read APPENDIX at the bottom for details.
＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝

○Installation/Uninstallation
To install, simply place the unzipped folder in the desired location using unzip software.
Uninstallation does not use the registry at all, so please delete the entire folder as it is.
The files created when unzipping are [DJ-X100EditTool(E)or(T).exe]” sample data (sampleedittool_sample.dan), and this manual.

○Connecting the PC and receiver
When ready, connect the PC and receiver with the USB cable provided. There are no rules for turning the DJ-X100 on and off, and the software can read and write as long as the USB cable is connected and the battery icon is displayed.
If the power is turned on while the USB cable is connected, there may be a time lag in the startup process, but this is normal. If you retry, it will turn on.

○Basic Operation
Click the icon to start the software.

The user interface is as follows
-Toolbar (on screen): File, Program, Setting, Version
-Tabs: Memory channel, Program scan, Bank link, Scan link

*COM port settings
Click “Setting” on the toolbar and point to “COM port” to see the COM port candidates. If COM1 appears, click to check the other ones.
Check the COM port everytime you start the software.

Error message:
If there is no communication between the PC and the software, an error message will appear. Make sure the cable connection and the COM port number to correct.

*[File]menu
-New: This is used to delete all data being created and start over from the beginning.
-Open: Select a data file that has already been edited and load it into the software. Please try using the included [sample.dan] file for the first time.The "sample.dan" file is a sample for trial use. The accuracy of the contents is not guaranteed.
-Import: Please read the Export section below.
-Save and Save As: This is the same method as common PC software for saving data. When you save, you will get a ".dan" file. You can save any number of different data by renaming them.
-Export: Data edited or read from DJ-X100 can be exported in CSV format and saved. This CSV file can also be imported into the software using the import menu. Communication settings and bank contents can't be edited by the csv file due to technical issues. See APPENDIX at the end of this instruction for details of CSV file.
Please check the contents that can be edited by loading the included sample.dan into the software with “Open” and exporting it with “Export”. If you do not edit the data with the same description as the sample, you may not be able to write to DJ-X100 or the operation may be incorrect. In such cases, re-writing the correct data file will fix the problem.
-Exit: Exit the software. If there is unsaved data being edited, a warning message will appear before exiting. Follow the instruction to exit.

*{Program] menu
- Read (Download): Loads the DJ-X100's current memory and scan information into the software. The more data you edit, the longer it will take for transfer.
- Write (Upload): Writes the data in the software to the DJ-X100. The more data you edit, the longer it takes. The progress bar is green during data transfer. DJ-X100 will restart automatically when the writing is successfully completed.
- Identify: Click [identify]to checks if your DJ-X100 and software corresponds. This software is model-sensitive and in case the model and software are different,a warning message will appear. It is not neccesary to press [identify] if you use only corresponding radio and software.

[NOTE] In case you find missing channel data on the Memory tab of the software, click [identify]while DJ-X100 is connected to PC.

*[Setting] menu
This is the COM port setting described above.

*[Version] menu
Displays the software version information.

[Note]
* We recommend that you operate the software based on the attached sample data and become familiar with the software before performing full-scale editing.While editing data, be sure to save over the data frequently to minimize data loss in case the software crashes for some reason.
* Unless otherwise explained, all references to the[ ** ]key,[ Ent]key, etc. in this manual refer to the keyboard of a personal computer.

○ How to operate the software

*Memory Channel Tab
===================
Edits memory channels. 999 memory CHs can be registered. Memory CH000 is dedicated to Priority CH and cannot be edited by the software.

[NOTE]
If you want to create many channels that are almost the same in content and differ only in frequency, name, etc., first complete the top line of basic data, then click on the [number(No.)] of the line and copy it using the Ctrl+C (copy) command or right-click to copy.
Point to the number of the line you want to increase, and keep pressing Ctrl+V (paste) command until the line you want to copy is filled. This works for other tabs as well, so try it with the sample.dan data.

The seven edited columns from [mode] to [Location] can be changed to the same contents at once. For example, if you want to convert 10 lines of modes from FM to NFM, drag the leftmost [Number(No.)]column for the 10 lines you want to change and highlight all lines in blue.
Then click on the [mode] in the top row (the highlight will disappear), select NFM, and press X on the mode selection window to change the mode of the selected lines.

Deleting and inserting lines may cause the “Bank Allocation Status” column to display incorrectly, but this is just a visual matter. It can be fixed by saving the file and reopening it.

When creating multiple banks for newly creating data, it is recommended that you name the banks first in the [Bank] window. Follow the below [Name]for how to type the name. You can edit them later at any time, but it seems more convenient to name them in advance.

Use Ctrl+Z “Back” command to cancel mistakes.

Use arrow keys to move cursor.

----------------------------------------------

Number(No.):
This is the number of the memory CH that will be registered in DJ-X100. When you insert or delete a line, it is automatically organized in ascending order. You cannot assign your own numbers to the line.If you want to replace a number, right-click on the line and use Copy,Cut, Paste, Insert, or Delete menu that appears.

Frequency:
Always start editing from this column. If you do not enter the correct value here, you will not be able to edit subsequent frames.
The method for entering values(numbers) is the same as for keyboard input on the DJ-X100.
Click on an unused frequency frame to bring up the cursor, enter the frequency in half-width alphanumeric numbers separated by dots in MHz units, and press the Ent key to confirm the entry.
After reading the edited data, click on the frame and only the numbers will be highlighted in blue, so edit them in the same way as above.
The blue highlight can be removed by using the →/← keys.If an incorrect value may be entered, an error message will appear.
When you confirm, FM and 20kHz will be displayed in the mode and step column automatically. They are fixed default value and can't be edited.

Example of key entries to set 123.0000MHz
123
123.
123.0,.
123.00,123.000~123.0000000
123.00000000123 (zero or another number exceeding the last 9 digits)

Long numeric sequences, such as 135.45678912345678 handled for [Location] column are truncated after the last 9 digits.

Name:
The text string that will be displayed on the LCD. Other tabs are also the same, and the same font as that of your OS can be used. However, DJ-X100 supports only standard alphanumeric characters/symbols available to English and Japanese OS, therefore, unsupported characters will be displayed with ? or incorrect characters. Up to 28 half-width (or 14 full-width characters in case Japanese) can be displayed. This specification is also common to all tabs.

Mode:
Click on a frame to display the modes supported by your X100. Check the ○ and press the ESC key or click the X in the window to set.

Step:
Select a value and press the ESC key on your keyboard (hereafter ESC) or click the X in the window to set.

Skip:
Click on a frame to set SKIP (exclude the channel while memory-scanning).Repeat to cancel.

Offset Step:
click on the frame to set [offset]if desired, and press ESC or click the X in the window to set.Repeat to cancel.

(CONFIG) Setting:
Click on the frame to display the sames items in the CONFIG menu of DJ-X100 in a separate window. Please refer to the DJ-X100 manual for their meanings, functions and setting values.

For example, when the frequency shift is -(minus)4MHz, enter -4, -4.0, -4.00... and confirm the value, and it will be registered as -4.000000. For positive + shift, for example, entering only 4 will register +4.000000. For shifts of 1 MHz or less such as 800kHz, enter the value in MHz units, such as 0.8(MHz).

For NXDN Sequence codes, press the [AUTO] button on the right to set the left to [AUTO] as well, so that the code will be analyzed automatically. If these code settings are known in advance, keyboard input of the values will enable selective reception (but auto detection won't work).

To return to the default values of the Setting frame, close the tab with X and then use the Ctrl+Z “Back” command.

Bank:
26 banks can be set from A to Z. Bank names are the same as above [Name]operation.Click on [BANK-*]to highlite blue then enter the name you like. The excessive length of characters, if any, will be deleted. Clicking on “Skip on bank link” will open a separate window. You can choose to include or exclude the bank in the scan only when scanning for bank links.

Location:
Enter the latitude and longitude in decimal format when using the GPS function. Click “Not set” to open the Longitude and latitude setting window. Click “New” to enter the latitude and longitude. Coordinates such as “34.64249816747441, 135.22895094228642” obtained from mapping software, etc. can be copied and pasted (Ctrl+V) into the latitude field, then both lat and long values will be automatically entered. The more digits in the last 6 digits of the decimal system, the more accurate the data, but it is not necessary to fill in all 6 digits. When you have finished entering the data, click the X in the upper right corner of the window. When registered, “Not set” will change to “Edit”.To cancel the entered value, press "Delete" in the setting window and close it.

Bank allocation status:
The bank selected in the bank setting window is automatically displayed. This is not a column to register anything.

Program Scan Tab
================
This tab is for editing the program scan (PS, sometimes called “search”), in which the upper and lower frequency limits are specified in VFO mode and VFO scanning is performed only between them.

Number(No.):
You cannot assign your own numbers. If you want to replace data, right-click on a line and use Copy, Paste, Insert, or Delete.

Start and end frequencies:
For example, to scan civil airband in VHF, enter 108.0 in Start freq., 136.975 in End freq.. If the correct number is not entered here, subsequent frames cannot be edited. Default FM and 20.00k step setting can't be changed to other values.

Name:
Name the PS pairs to be displayed in DJ-X100 PS menu. You can edit names in the same way you edit them in the memory channel tab.

Mode:
Click on the frame to display the modes supported by your DJ-X100. Select a value and press ESC key or click X in the window to set.
Select NAM or NFM for AM and FM according to your preference by actually monitoring the band in your area of reception.

Step/Offset Step/RX(Congig) Settings:
Same as Memory CH editing, these three items are very important for PS. If you make a mistake, you will not be able to receive, so please check carefully before inputting.

Link scan allocation Status:
The link status edited in the Scan Link tab is automatically displayed. It is not a column to register anything.

*BANK LINK TAB
==============
You can combine multiple memory banks that have been assigned in the Memory CH tab and have them scanned in memory mode. For example, you can create separate banks for “Railroad” and ‘Bus’ then set them together to combine these two banks to scan as "Railroad and Bus.

Number: Same as other tabs.
Name: Same as other tabs.

Bank Link:
When you click on “Edit” a separate window will be displayed showing the banks that you have assigned when editing the memory CH. Click and select the banks you wish to banklink scan. Click the X in the window to set.

*Scan Link Tab
===============
You can combine the bands you edited in the Program Scan tab and have them scanned together. For example, use this tab when you want to combine the “145MHz amateur” band and the “430MHz amateur” band for PS-link scanning.

Number: Same as other tabs.
Name: Same as other tabs.

Scan link:
When you click “Edit”, the PS bands you edited in the Program Scan tab will be displayed in a separate window. Click and select the PS bands you wish to combine for scanning. Click the X in the window to set.

Scan allocation status:
Displays which PS bands have been linked. This is not a column to register anything.

Save the data
==============
* You can write the edited data to DJ-X100 without saving it, but we suggest to save it once using the “File” menu before writing. This is to prevent unexpected problems from occurring during the writing process and erasing the data. Save the data by selecting “Save As” or ‘Save’ from the “File” menu. The csv data created by exporting does not save all the contents.

Writing to DJ-X100
==================

Make sure the COM port setting is correct, and click “Write ” in the “Program” menu. You can write while receiving or scanning.
During data transfer, the progress bar will be green to indicate progress status. DJ-X100 will automatically restart when writing is successfully completed. The transfer process can take up to several minutes.
When editing a different file, either shut down the software and restart it, or create a file that saves the initial screen at startup and load that file.If an error occurs, such as the power being turned off or the cable being unplugged, writing will stop and freeze. Unlike firmware updates, this only causes the writing to fail and does not cause a malfunction. Restart the software and DJ-X100, and start writing again from the beginning.
